If Not Now. Dacă nu acum.

Parallel Texts in English and Romanian
ISBN 978-606-760-097-1

Jeremy Page's book, published both in English and in Romanian translation, is part of the series entitled Lidia Vianu Translates. The books included in it are published both online, at Contemporary Literature Press, and on paper, by Editura Integral. The series will include both English writers translated into Romanian, and Romanian writers translated into English. All books will be issued as Parallel Texts.
Jeremy Page was born in 1958 and grew up in sight of France on the Kent coast. He is widely travelled and lived in London for many years before moving to the historic town of Lewes on the South Downs. He is the author of four pamphlets of poetry. He has published translations of Catullus, Leopardi, Rimbaud and Boris Vian, among others, and is the author of two plays: Loving Psyche (staged in Bremen in 2010) and Verrall of the White Hart (staged in Lewes in 2014). His short stories are widely published. He is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Sussex, editor since 1983 of The Frogmore Papers and co-editor of the online poetry journal morphrog.
The patrons of this undertaking are, besides the University of Bucharest, The British Council, The Romanian Cultural Institute, and the Romanian Writers' Union.
Some of the English poets included in the series so far have worked with Lidia Vianu's graduate students on the translation of an anthology of contemporary Romanian poetry,

http://editura.mttlc.ro/contemporary-romanian-poetry.html.

This collaboration is a mechanism that has perfected with time. The MA Programme for the Translation of the Contemporary Literary Text has become a brand in literary translation from and into English.
Last year, this graduate programme was ten years old. As a sign of recognition, its patrons have supported Lidia Vianu, director of the programme, to organize a first Masterclass in literary translation, for which six British poets have been invited to work with Romanian MTTLC graduates on translations from Romanian poetry into English. The second issue of that remarkable encounter will take place this year, between 8–14 May, and it will focus on fiction this time.

Lidia Vianu Translates. Jeremy Page: If Not Now. Dacă nu acum, is formally launched on Wednesday 15 March 2017. The book is available for consultation and downloading on receipt of this Press Release, at the following internet address:

Lidia Vianu Translates. Jeremy Page: If Not Now. Dacă nu acum, se lansează oficial miercuri 15 martie 2017, dar volumul poate fi consultat și descărcat din acest moment la adresa de internet:
